From the beginning of my college journey, I knew I could trust Di 100%. She was kind, sincere and talked to me about college, not to my parents. She treated me like a young adult and made me feel like I was in the driver’s seat, which was really important to me.
We’d meet over Zoom on a regular basis to talk about what I enjoyed doing, whether it be volunteering, dancing, or learning more about the medical profession, since I had dreamed of becoming a doctor from the age of 7. She also asked me about homework load, group project dynamics and my study habits. She really got to know what type of student I was and what things mattered to me most. She talked to me about my personal statement and helped me formulate that essay. She reviewed it and gave me helpful feedback to improve it, while still making sure it was written in my voice.
After really getting to know me, she encouraged me to apply early decision to the school that was at the top of my interest list. Looking back, I am so grateful that she urged me to do this – the college has felt like home to me from the day I moved in. I’m entering my Junior year now, majoring in Molecular Biology and Spanish, and I couldn’t be happier. I am really grateful to Di Tran for helping me through the college application process!
