It’s an exciting, busy and stressful time, and for me, it’s one of the most enjoyable times to work with a student.

Do families need an independent college consultant? Not always. The process, though byzantine, is manageable if families have the patience and time. However, an independent college counselor can be a useful resource and a helpful bridge between parents/guardians and child, offering a common vocabulary to help ease the anxiety and clear any confusion.

Make no mistake; the student drives the process. My role is to guide, help and encourage. The student writes the essays, applies to the colleges, speaks to the representatives, and get themselves into college because they have the desire, the commitment and fortitude to do so. I believe it, and so will they.
